„ […] Amidst all the chaos at the end of the war, forces and expectations accumulated and developed a dynamism which also resulted in the founding of our company on 1 September 1945 by master toolmaker Georg Martin. The decisiveness and perseverance to meet the goals he had set enabled our company founder and his three employees to overcome the adversity initially encountered.
Within a growth period of only a few years, the road led from rented premises and equipment in Dietesheim near Mühlheim via Offenbach to full independence at Dietzenbach, the seat of the company to this day.
In harmony with this, connections to customers were developed along with the range of products. Important impulses were introduced through customer contacts in the field of vending machines and later through cooperation with printing machine manufacturers, especially sheet-fed offset printing presses. Add to these contacts to the entire industry throughout Europe with our shim and spacer products and the awarding of a production licence to Japan.
A sound knowledge of stamping technology was the setup capital of our company. It comprised construction, toolmaking and production. In this way, we represent a tradition of skilled craftsmanship which stretches back to the very beginning. Experience and knowledge in this discipline are regarded to this day as a real treasure which is built upon with great care and attention. The means and possibilities for processing have of course changed enormously in the course of time, but the fundamental principles of cutting and shaping remain as sound as ever. Accordingly, manufacture by means of stamping technology is proving to be a topic with lots of variations, the end of which cannot be foreseen.
Other forms of processing are linked with this key area. The realization of our ideas in the development and design of parts requires appropriate welding and machining technology which is suited to the peculiarities of our sheet metal parts. For this reason, much of our essential production equipment lies beyond standards and could only be designed and produced as special equipment in cooperation with our machine suppliers, service providers and own production department.
In light of all of this, it seemed obvious to us to use stamping technology to manufacture shims and spacers, starting with a material thickness of twenty-five thousandths of a millimetre and an ordered quantity of one, up to standard material thicknesses and annual quantities of several hundred thousands. An appropriate distribution network was built up all over Europe to market these products. […]”
